BATESVILLE’S MAIN STREET FARMERS MARKET –  LAST MARKET OF THE SEASON NOV. 7th

 

The Main Street Farmers Market in downtown Batesville will hold its last market day of the 2015 season on Saturday, November 7th from 8am to noon in the Pocket Park on Batesville’s historic Main Street. The Market features locally grown foods from Clark Farm, Mahan Farm, Garden Girl Produce and Five Acre Farm and will have beautiful fall greens, lettuces, radishes, turnips, potatoes, sweet potatoes, possibly broad beans and tomatoes, and Arkansas grown apples.
Brood Farm out of Cave City will have fresh eggs from free ranging chickens as well as goat milk soaps with a special line of soaps for Christmas.  Downtown Pie Company and Ozark Kitchen will have home baked pies and pastries. Garden Girl Produce will have pasture raised meats and cheeses, as well as new jams and jellies, Harvest Fresh vinegars and marinades and gift baskets for the upcoming holiday season. Local artist and teacher, Katie Covington, will be selling pottery, handmade aprons, paintings and jewelry. Anita Flemming’s wood crafts and Karen Barker’s jewelry will also be available at this last market of the season.
At 10am, a cooking demonstration will feature Roasted Fall Vegetables for the holiday table. Live music at the Market will start around 9am, weather permitting. Check the Main Street Facebook page for details on Market Music and events.
For the 2016 growing season Main Street Farmers Market plans to be open on the first and third Saturdays of the month starting in May.
