Spring Art Walk

Join us today for an engaging arts experience in Downtown Batesville! The Batesville Area Arts Council, in partnership with Lyon College art students, invites you to immerse yourself in creativity at the Art Walk on Main Street today, Friday, May 3 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. This event is a self-guided viewing of artwork in Downtown Batesville, and is FREE and open to the public for all ages.

The Batesville Area Arts Council’s Gallery on Main (226 E Main) will host a reception this evening for their 12th Annual National Juried Exhibition. This year’s exhibition was juried by Justin Bryant, a contemporary artist and Assistant Professor at Philander Smith University, and features the work of 18 artists from 8 different states. Awards will be announced starting at 6 p.m. Award sponsors include First Community Bank, Carter Ford State Farm, FutureFuel Chemical Co. and Fuller Bumpers Attorney at Law.

Lyon College Art students from Dustyn Bork’s Printmaking II class will have their artwork displayed on the third floor of Landers Theater (332 E Main). This exhibition features prints created by Lacey Butler, Bethany Ellis, Emilee Gerhardt, Aiden McMurry, Taja Showers, Rylee Smith, Emma Smotherman, Donna Terrell, and Summer Woods. Gallery 246 (243 E Main) will also be open for the Art Walk, showcasing work by many talented local artists.
