Youth Day Camps Return at the Ozark Folk Center State Park

Ozark Folk Center State Park is offering a series of Youth Day Camps for children ages 8-12. The first camp of the summer will be June 16-20, with a second following July 7-11. Both camps cost $60 per child. These summer day camps are a favorite among the youth of the area.

“There will be summer fun and learning with projects to make and take home in both camps,” said Mary Gillihan, park interpreter and camp coordinator. “From tie-dye T-shirts to soap sculptures; pottery to leaf prints, you will enjoy this week at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. We will also spend one day in the Ozark National Forest doing Rock-ol-ogy, having a picnic lunch, finding cool creek critters and swimming.”

“These camps are a fantastic way to connect our young people to what is available in their own backyard,” said John Morrow, Park Superintendent at Ozark Folk Center State Park. “Many of our participants return year after year, and Mary does a great job of keeping the camp fresh and exciting.”

To register for either of the Day Camps, you may visit the website at www.ozarkfolkcenter.com or call 870-269-3851. Scholarships are available.
