Are you looking for a new and exciting way to prepare meals for a camping trip or any special gathering of friends and family? How about trying some food cooked in a Dutch oven? Dutch oven cooking has a unique, special flavor unlike anything you have experienced before.
At Jacksonport State Park, we are having a Dutch Oven Workshop on Saturday, September 21 from 9:30 am to noon in the picnic area. The Park Interpreters will discuss methods on how to use and maintain a Dutch oven. We will be cooking shepherd’s pie, glazed carrots & butternut squash, buttermilk biscuit and for dessert easy Dutch oven apple cobbler. The price of the workshop is $15 per adult and $7 per child (6 to 12 years), 5 years and under free. The cost of the workshop will pay for the cost of the meal and an informational booklet.
