Begin your child’s summer with adventure by attending the free programs at Jacksonport Discovery Hour in Jacksonport State Park. Activities starting Thursday, June 6th at 10 am at the park pavilion. The activities are free and will be every Thursday from 10 am to 11am in June.

Jacksonport Discovery Hour is a world of excitement packed into a one hour program for kids’ age 6 to 12 years. With the park interpreters, you can explore the outdoors and discover history with games, trail walks, crafts, artifacts, and storytelling.

The dates and activities for June are:

6th –Japanese Fish Printing – You can learn about the different kinds of fish in the White River especially the most famous fish the White River Monster. After the program, make prints of fish using the Japanese Fishing Printing Technique.

13th-Crazy About Ducks – Join the fun and games about ducks in Arkansas. Through games explore the dangers and trials of ducks traveling to Arkansas.

20th-Steamboat Games –Join the fun by dressing up as a passenger on a steamboat or captain of a steamboat. Through games become part of a steamboat traveling down the river.

27th-Everybody Needs A Home-Everyone need a home humans, dogs, cats and even wildlife. While we think of our homes as just the roof over our heads join the park interpreter as we play games and do other activities to learn what home means to a wild animal at Jacksonport.

Children’s groups, Day Care Centers and Summer Schools are encouraged to participate in these free programs. Don’t let your kids miss out on a summer adventure at Jacksonport State Park.
