The Arkansas Pie Festival is set to return to Cherokee Village on April 26, 2025 as a partner of the World Food Championship, the biggest Food Sport event in the world.
“It’s no secret…people love pie!” explained festival co-founder and Cherokee Village Community Developer Jonathan Rhodes. The event will kick off with a Pie Day 5K starting at 9 am. At 10 am festival-goers will get to enjoy pie tasting, live entertainment with local musicians, food trucks, the crowd-favorite pie eating, shopping at the Arkansas Pie Pop-up Shop, and much more. The festival will also feature retrospective displays highlighting memorable moments from the past five years.
Festival proceeds support STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) programming and education at the Spring River Innovation Hub.

As an official qualifying event for WFC, the Arkansas Pie Festival will award one Golden Ticket to its champion making them eligible to compete in the Dessert category at the international cooking tournament this fall.The World Food Championships (WFC) welcomes over 350 teams from across the globe to find the best culinary talent each year.
They compete in twelve categories, from barbecue to dessert, as they try to navigate their way to the tournament’s final table and a grand prize of $100,000.“It’s no secret…people love pie!” explained festival co-founder and Cherokee Village Community Developer Jonathan Rhodes. “We are excited to partner with the World Food Championship to promote Arkansas, bring people together in Cherokee Village and ultimately grow the Arkansas Pie Festival. You don’t want to miss your chance to win a “Golden Ticket” to compete in the Dessert Competition at the World Food Championship in Dallas this fall!”
In addition to pie tasting, festival-goers will enjoy a Pie Day 5K starting at 9 am , live entertainment, food trucks, pie eating and throwing contests, shopping at the Arkansas Pie Pop-up Shop, and much more. A full schedule of events will be released in March.

Karin Huffman is an Independence County native who graduated from Cushman High School in 1996. Traveling throughout the state is one of her passions, along with writing about her adventures.
Taking over as travel writer for the Ozark Gateway Region is a dream come true for Huffman who lives in the region with her two daughters, Grace and Stella.
As a family, they enjoy canoeing the Poke Bayou, Salado Creek and the many waterways along the White River in Independence County. Camping and hiking throughout the region is a must for them in the spring and fall as well.
Huffman is an avid nature photographer who will do just about anything to find the perfect waterfall shot, and has visited many in the great state. From Twin Falls and the Richland Creek area in Northwest Arkansas to little known places off the beaten path, waterfalls will be found.
Huffman has been a travel writer for the Eye on Independence Magazine as well as a staff writer for the Batesville Guard, and is looking forward to devoting her time to traveling throughout the eight county region that the Ozark Gateway offers.
