Summer Events at Jim Hinkle Spring River State Fish Hatchery
This summer the hatchery is hosting a couple of events geared toward youth anglers and their families: one is our annual kids fishing derby Saturday, June 10th and the other is our Fishing Friday events beginning June 23, through July 14th. This summer program is a wonderful time for all of us and the summer youth programs are greatly appreciated as we usually have around 600 kids participate in the derby and approximately 150 for the fishing Friday programs. Kids Fishing Derby – Saturday, June 10 • 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Free fishing for anglers up to 12 years old.

Fishing Fridays
June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14 • 9-11 a.m.
Free fishing for anglers 6-14 years old.
Fishing skill instructions. Limit of 3 rainbow trout.
Children must be accompanied by an adult and bring their own fishing equipment. No live bait. Anglers are encouraged to register by calling the hatchery at 877-625-7521.
Summer is a special time for all youth, a break from school, and families’ time to do things together, outside in our beautiful Natural State of Arkansas! Join us!! Tell them Ginger sent you!
