Statement from Independence County Library Board President
(BATESVILLE, AR) – On behalf of our Board, Director Vanessa Adams, and our staff, I would like to inform the people of Independence County that your library continues to provide services for you in spite of the compulsory closure due to the pandemic.
We offer curbside service and many of you are taking advantage of those services. In April over 4,000 patrons checked out material and more than 3,500 ebooks were checked out.
Additionally, we prepare and present by Facebook and Instagram a virtual story time. In April there were more than 7,000 visits to these sites. We urge all of you to take advantage of these services. Our staff are performing these services in spite of reduced hours due to the furlough policy the County has had to impose.
The board is very proud of our Director and her staff. They are doing an outstanding job in very difficult circumstances.
