Powhatan Historic State Park to host August workshop
Basic Sewing and Quilting are topics of August workshops

(POWHATAN, Ark.) – Powhatan Historic State Park will host a Sewing and Quilting workshop in August. The workshops have a registration fee and reservations are required.

On Saturday, August 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., park staff will teach participants basic sewing techniques and the history of sewing. Learn basic stitches, how to read a pattern, and how to plan a sewing project. Participants will leave with their own sewing kit. The registration fee is $25. Space is limited.

On Saturday, August 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., park staff will teach basic quilting techniques and the history of quilting. Learn how to how to piece together a quilt square, how to layer your quilt, and the quilt stitch. A perfect companion to the basic sewing class. Participants will leave with their own quilt square. The registration fee is $15. Space is limited.
