Mountain View, Arkansas -The Ozark Folk Center State Park kicks off the 2016 music season with an evening of free entertainment on Thursday, April 14. Performances from Stone County’s Music Roots students will take center stage for this event, with students playing traditional Ozark songs. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. and the doors open at 5:30 p.m. performing students should be at the theater by 5:45 p.m.
“This is our annual opening night and the event is always well attended” said Music Director Daren Dortin. “It’s a real treat to see these young musicians on stage. It’s a tribute to our area’s musical heritage and the hard work of all the Music Roots instructors and volunteers”.
The evening concerts begin Friday, April 15through the end of October, shows are from 7:00p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday.
Over 20 Feature Concerts are scheduled for the 2016 season including performances from David Holt, Jerron Paxton, Dom Flemons and the Quebe Sisters among others. 2016 season passes are $75.00 and are valid for all Feature Concerts including select matinee performances in the Craft Village as well as daily admission to the park.
