RAVENDEN SPRINGS — Once a popular spa town is now one of The Natural State’s newest Natural Heritage sites.

Located in Randolph County, Ravenden Springs can be found among the Ozark Gateway region by taking scenic Highway 90, north from Ravenden or west from Pocahontas to Ravenden Springs.

Boasting five medicinal springs, waterfalls, canyon walls more than 200 feet tall and some of the rarest plants found nowhere else in Arkansas, Ravenden Springs offers a fun getaway in the Gateway that also includes the School and Elephant caves, two of four known caves in the area.

With a canyon trail that allows visitors to walk among nature’s beauty, particularly during spring when the redbud trees and wildflowers are in bloom.

The Arkansas Division of Natural Heritage will hold a dedication ceremony this spring at a time and date to be announced. An improved trail, signage and parking lot are also planned, according to officials.
