Lane Berg brings his love for learning and experience in a wide variety of techniques to the Arkansas Craft School.  Lane Berg is primarily an acrylic and mixed media artist, with explorations into printmaking and photography. He studied art and social work at Delta State University, receiving a BSW and an M.Ed. and currently teaches K-12 art at Timbo School as well as beginner mixed media art workshops in Mountain View. As a teacher, he has dabbled in almost everything. He says “Just about all of my personal work is influenced by the Japanese notion of wabi sabi, essentially a celebration of imperfection.” His delightfully imperfect works have a fanciful richness that suggests an interest in underlying realities. For the last 10 years he has shown in the longest running gallery in Vicksburg, Mississippi, the Attic Gallery. He recently won a merit award at the Greenville, MS Invitational Show for a mixed media painting and in 2016 he taught a professional artists workshop “Wabi-Sabi, celebrating Imperfection in Mixed Media”.
