Horseshoe Bend 1st Annual Dogwood Days 5K at Dogwood Days Festival May 14!!!
HORSESHOE BEND, AR – The Horseshoe Bend Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 1st annual Dogwood Days 5K, as part of the Dogwood Days Festival, on May 14, 2016. The 5K will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the former Horseshoe Bend Medical Clinic on 3rd street.
The 5K will be a fun walk or run with medals being awarded for 1st place (fastest time) in each age division for both male and female categories. 2nd and 3rd place finishers will receive a certificate, and a trophy will be awarded to the fastest overall male and female.
Have a group of co-workers, church members, or best friends with matching t-shirts? Be sure to wear them or another creative and appropriate attire, and you’ll be considered for the team spirit award. Registration is just $20 in advance and $25 the day of the race. We also have a 10 and under age division for $10, so bring the kids! Participants who register on or before April 20, 2016 will receive a free t-shirt.
FNBC Bank is providing bottled water and the Neighborhood Fresh Market will donate fresh fruit to be enjoyed by participants after completing the 5K. Streets that will be utilized for the 5K route include 3rd, 4th, 1st, Church, Ivory, Topaz, Peridot, and Opal. Businesses and homeowners along the route are encouraged to cheer on the runners as they pass by. Drivers are asked to use caution and be prepared to stop, or consider another route, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
