Feb. 10 Sew Ingenious Makers Featured Artists at the Arkansas Craft Gallery

Feb. 10, Featured Artists Jeannette Barry and Tom Wirries, of Sew Ingenious Designs, Little Rock will be at the Arkansas Craft Gallery in Mountain View from 10-5 with their hand-made purses and bags.
“The road to our fabric purses started in 2004 simply with a love of fabric and some free upholstery samples.  We just started to think creatively.  I had some sewing background and Tom caught on VERY quickly. So we decided to make handbags – the very best handbag we could create, with all the features I have liked in purses I’ve owned, with quality and customer satisfaction our guiding principle.”
“Three years ago we decided to add leather handbags to our selection and it has been a big hit and a lot of fun. We follow fashion trends and classic designs.  We now have many styles to appeal to a wide audience and we continue to design new styles every year.  Most design development is started by visual or mental conceptualization and then through practiced deconstruction we teach ourselves how to make the physical piece.”
Both Jeannette and Tom were born into the auto industry of Michigan, but didn’t meet until later in life.  Sewing came naturally to Jeannette because her grandmother was a seamstress. Tom is completely self-taught, his ability to engineer designs with no pattern is amazing.  If you can describe it to him, he can make it. “We are both very dedicated to a quality bag that will last and last.”
