Davidsonville Historic State Park’s New Education Center Opens Feb. 24th!
Old Visitor Center Becomes New Education Center
What’s old is new again at your local state park. The staff of Davidsonville invites you bring your creativity and get crafty at our newly renovated Education Center as they celebrate it’s opening this month. The building will open to the public in its new role for the first time on February 24th, from 9am to Noon for a nature crafts program. Families with kids and those creative at heart are all welcome to come get hands on and make memories in this old space with a new life.
Many northeast Arkansas locals will recognize the Education Center as the park’s old visitor center. The building functioned as office space, storage, and visitor center and could not keep up with the demands of increasing visitation. With the opening of the park’s new visitor center in May of 2016, plans began to revitalize the old space. The goal quickly became to create a climate controlled facility capable of being used for park programs and public meetings.
Those interested in the Nature Crafts program can reserve a space by calling the park at 870-892-4708. A five dollar supply fee is required for the activity, and participants will go home with two different nature crafts.
For more information about these and other events, please call the park 870-892-4708 or stop by and visit us. Davidsonville is located on Arkansas Highway 166 South, 15 minutes from Pocahontas. The park staff wishes you all happy holidays and hope to see you out at your local state park soon.
