CALICO ROCK MUSEUM AWARDED BLUE & YOU GRANT
The Calico Rock Museum Art & Science Center has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas. The grant will fund The Beat Goes On exhibit in the new art and science center. The exhibit will include models of the human heart, information on how to have a healthy heart, and the heartbeat highway. The highway represents blood flowing through our arteries and veins.
The goal of the exhibit is to teach visitors the causes of heart disease and how to prevent it. Heart disease is the highest cause of death in Izard County and Arkansas. The museum is partnering with the Blue & You Foundation to educate the public and, hopefully, reduce the risk of heart disease.
