WEST PLAINS, Mo. — From its court square location to the old time feel one gets walking through its doors, Perry’s Barber Shop looks like something straight out of a Norman Rockwell illustration. Yet, its down-home service is not something that’s gone with the wind.
Located at 47 Court Square in West Plains, Missouri, Perry’s Barber Shop offers traditional barbershop flat tops and straight razor shaves, among other services. It was also named Best Barber Shop in 2018 by readers of the West Plains Daily Quill.
Perry’s is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. For more information, call 417-257-9284 or visit Perry’s Barbershop on Facebook.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Lacy, 34, spent most of her life in the hills of Lawrence County. Today, she lives in Cave City, the home of “World’s Sweetest Watermelons,” in what’s known as the Prince Matlock house. Its former owner helped create what’s known as the Cave Courts where the city’s cave lies above the Crystal River. He fashioned his home out of the same rocks and materials that are found among the cave’s property, and she feels blessed to now be its caretaker for many more years to come.
