The Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove is set to host the prestigious Topless 100 event this weekend, August 16-17, 2024.
This annual event is celebrating its 32nd year and draws top dirt late model racers from across the country, all vying for the championship title in an exciting topless format, where cars race without roofs, giving fans an unobstructed view of the drivers.
Known for its intense competition and high speed action, the Topless 100 is a highlight for this area attracting thousands of motorsport enthusiasts to the ⅜ -mile clay oval track. This track is known for it’s high banks that presents a thrilling challenge for races and fans alike!
Big River Steel has stepped up as the presenting sponsor for this year’s race, while Nutrien Ag Solutions serves as the sponsor.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 12-15 and 11 and under are free. The track is located at 5090 Heber Springs Road in Locust Grove.

Karin Huffman is an Independence County native who graduated from Cushman High School in 1996. Traveling throughout the state is one of her passions, along with writing about her adventures.

Huffman is an avid nature photographer who will do just about anything to find the perfect waterfall shot, and has visited many in the great state. From Twin Falls and the Richland Creek area in Northwest Arkansas to little known places off the beaten path, waterfalls will be found.
Huffman has been a travel writer for the Eye on Independence Magazine as well as a staff writer for the Batesville Guard, and is looking forward to devoting her time to traveling throughout the eight county region that the Ozark Gateway offers.
