BATESVILLE — The Independence County Library is continuing its genealogy presentations at noon Friday, Sept. 21 inside the Main Street Batesville Loft, located at 267 E. Main St.
Guest speaker, Thea Walden Baker, will be presenting, “Targeted DNA Testing Delivers Two Colonial Daughters.”
Parking for the event is located in the back lot of the library, or on Main Street. Entrance into the building can be made at the back of the building.
Those who attend will be eligible to win a door prize after the event. As always, this library-sponsored presentation is free and open to the public.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Lacy, 34, spent most of her life in the hills of Lawrence County. Today, she lives in Cave City, the home of “World’s Sweetest Watermelons,” in what’s known as the Prince Matlock house. Its former owner helped create what’s known as the Cave Courts where the city’s cave lies above the Crystal River. He fashioned his home out of the same rocks and materials that are found among the cave’s property, and she feels blessed to now be its caretaker for many more years to come.
