Anatomy for TEEN – Art Students
Join Adrian Deckbar for an informative journey on how to create and draw the form of the Human Figure in proportion. Using George Bridgman’s ideas and drawings as a basis, we will reference from “The Complete Guide to Drawing from Life”. She will break down the forms into their simplest shapes, explaining with diagrams and drawing with you, how to create the human form in 3-D, and how to use this information and apply it to a living person. You may use the information on ‘head studies’ to try a self-portrait!
This drawing intensive takes place over five 3-hour days: 1) The Head 2) Overview of the Body 3) Hands and Feet 4) Foreshortening and 5) Review: The Entire Human Figure. Students may wish to purchase Bridgman’s book for future reference.

Adrian Deckbar is well known for the play of light in her works in acrylic and pastel, and for 30 years, created figurative artwork. She has taught art at The New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, Tulane University, The Bascom; A Center for Visual Arts, and The Mississippi Art Colony. She has an MFA, MA and BA in painting, and has received numerous grants and awards. Her work is in collections around the world.
