Calico Rock Museum Announces Release of Old Galatia Book
Old Galatia Church By Linda Bradbury
The story of the Old Galatia Church and Cemetery is told through recorded histories, newspaper stories, tombstones and research. The church building which is on the Arkansas Most Endangered Places list has been an important part of the community since long before it was deeded to the community in 1886. A dedicated group of volunteers is working to save the building.
A number of people including Mary Lee Lackey Nelson, Max Parnell, Wanda Havner and Linda Acklin Bradbury contributed information and many pictures and newspaper stories provide additional information. This book was put together by Bradbury with photographic help from her son Bashan as a way to make money to pay for needed repairs.
This book would be an invaluable aid to anyone doing geanological research on the families of the Ozarks.
