Canning Workshop Powhatan Historic State Park
Admission: $20 per person

Did your garden go overboard this year? Do you enjoy going to the farmer’s market and want to have some of those fruits and vegetables year round? Join the park staff and learn how to can food so it stays good all year long. We will discuss the history of canning and give some tips for making canning easy. Reservations are required. Pearl Stringing Powhatan Historic State Park

Ever wondered how your grandmother’s pearl necklace or bracelet was made? Join a park interpreter to learn the fascinating history of the Arkansas pearling industry and make your very own keepsake jewelry!
You can choose to make earrings, a bracelet, a necklace, or one of each! Prices are $5 for earrings, $10 for a bracelet, and $20 for a necklace. Feel free to bring your own snack and drinks.

From Scraps to Quilt: A Beginner’s Quilting Workshop Powhatan Historic State Park
Admission: $15 per person

Quilting, a popular pastime, joined together not only pieces of fabric, but people’s lives. Join us at Powhatan Historic State Park to learn this time-honored and beloved tradition. Participants will learn the basics of quilting; piecing the squares, layering the quilt and the quilting stitch. The $15 registration fee will provide materials.
