Warp Dyeing is a method used to beautify textile work. By applying various colors and their shades to a warp, it can then be used to create complex and beautiful patterns in the finished piece. Though dyeing can be done at any stage of the creation process, fiber artist Dana Schaeffer will guide you in dyeing the warp before it is wound on the loom!
FRIDAY JUNE 15
Create beautiful personalized fabrics using multiple techniques! In this workshop, you will learn Japanese marbleizing on silk scarves; block printing on fabric or paper; flower pounding as a way of transferring natural pigments and making them permanent.
This class is for all levels! Let renowned artist Linda Rawlings guide you in creating one of a kind designs for wearable art! SATURDAY JUNE 16
Through endless combinations of hand stitching, overlapping, collage with found objects, and painted accents on fabric, you will learn slow stitch collage techniques to create intricate balances between old and new. The initial fabrics are the medium, or support, for the final works. Your instructor, fiber artist Antzee Magruder, will provide individualized coaching and guidance on your creations during this fun weekend course!

JULY 14 & 15
Learn the art of cyanotype printing to capture patterns from nature or other objects through this updated 19th century process. This hands-on workshop will teach one of the earliest – and originally camera-less – forms of photography. You will leave with a silk cyanotype scarf and learn the best methods for creating original designs on fabric and paper. Learn this versatile art form from the very best with local expert fiber artist, Linda Rawlings!
