Build your herbal knowledge with herbalists Emily Rush, Susan Belsinger, Chris Cosby, Tina Marie Wilcox and mycologist, Jay Justice. Topics include, Medicinal Mushrooms of Arkansas; Herbal Remedies for Stress and Anxiety; Hops, Herb of the Year; The Medicine of Home; and Understanding Plant Mucilage.The annual Medicinal Herb Workshop is educational, entertaining and a feast for all the senses. A Cinco de Mayo-inspired herbal luncheon is included in the workshop fee.

Craft Village Matinee 2 – 3 p.m.
Make a day of it with an all day pass that includes two shows and entry into the Craft Village featuring 22 artisan shops. It’s a unique experience to see these incredible artisans at work, visit with them about their craft, and buy local. All this for about $20.

Join Ozark Folk Center musicians for an outdoor concert underneath the shade of the big oak tree on the Court Square in Mountain View; concerts are the first Sunday of every month May through October. Musicians perform from 2-3 with a picking to follow. Bring your instruments and join in the fun. Concerts are sponsored in part by Stone Bank. Admission is Free.

The Purple Hulls
This week, talented twin Texan bluegrass and gospel duo The Purple Hulls recorded live at the Ozark Folk Center State Park in Mountain View, Arkansas. Also, interviews with these identical virtuosos. Mark Jones offers an archival recording of Ozark original Donnie Dutton performing the traditional tune “Wildwood Flower.” Writer, professor, and historian Dr. Brooks Blevins recounts the American geographer, geologist, and ethnologist Henry Schoolcraft’s experience in the early Ozark region.
