Pioneer Craft Camp at Jacksonport State Park – June 21-23 ! Join us! (Posted by Ginger Smith)
Don’t let your kids miss out on a great summer adventure at Jacksonport State Park! Make plans for them to attend our Pioneer Craft Camp in June to discover their frontier spirits and learn pioneer skills of yesteryear. Each day has a different focus and you can attend just one day or all three!
Wednesday, June 21 – Daily Lives of Pioneer Children
Today you will decorate a hat to wear all week and take home with you, and make a real chalkboard and eraser that is yours to keep!
Thursday, June 22 – A Place for Everything
Today you will make and decorate a clay pinch pot and a fabric ditty bag to store your treasures in. Later you will dip a candle in 19th century fashion.
Friday, June 23 – Building a Healthy Body
On Friday, our campers will learn how to prepare a simple meal over a charcoal fire. The menu includes homemade soup, cornbread, and a surprise dessert. All made the old-fashioned way!
