All you need to bring is your clothes, food and the mindset to enjoy the peaceful soothing sights and sounds of this natural sanctuary! Each cottage offers on the deck a secluded large tub that allows you to take a warm or cool bath while enjoying the chance to relax and enjoy nature at its best – bubbles included!

You will find that each cottage has its own golf cart that allows you easy navigation of the grounds. Be sure to take a tour of the entire property and the paths that Linda and David have carefully plotted out. Take time to enjoy the scenery, wildlife and the chance to simply relax and enjoy the view! Ride down to the beautiful Eleven Point River and spend the day swimming, fishing or floating the river in one of the canoe’s or kayaks that Shady River offers its guests.
At the right time of year you can enjoy scrumptious black berries while riding in the golf cart around the trails. I noticed last week when my husband and I navigated the trails that the black berries will soon be ripe and ready to feed your hunger with that sweet juicy taste that will hit the spot on a warm day. You might want to pick a bowl and bake a yummy black berry cobbler! Be sure to bring all the ingredients so you can make a cobbler at your cottage, which will fill the air with a fragrance that will make your family so happy!
Firefly Tree House at Shady River
Our visit to Shady River really was wonderful; the only drawback to our stay was it went too fast! When you plan your trip to Shady River try to make it for a few days so you have time to simply enjoy the beautiful get away that is waiting for you.
