Village Art Center to Showcase Imagery of Ozarks Region

Got great pictures of the area? The public is invited to bring their framed photos and other artwork to the Village Art Center for a showcase that celebrates the natural beauty and interesting details and personalities of the Arkansas Ozarks. The show will open at Thunderfest July 4th and 5th and continue through the summer and grow, with the best entries travelling to other locations and possibly used for regional promotion. Acceptable entries may include nature, portraits of local people and animals, detail shots or imagery such as “Rustic Americana” found in our regioPhotographs and other artworks will be hung in the meeting room adjacent to the Village Art Center in the Town Center courtyard in Cherokee Village. The show will continue to grow as more entries are received throughout the summer. Winners will be selected prior to Harvestfest in early October, with honors and prizes to be awarded during this popular community event. The “Best in Show” will continue to other venues including ASU Mountain Home for a show at the Vada Sheid throughout November.

Interested individuals can bring their works in on Saturdays from 10 until noon, or 1-2 pm, see current entries and obtain further information on plans for the exhibition. The Village Art Center is located in the courtyard of the Cherokee Village Town Center, next to the gazebo band-shell.
