27th Annual Dogwood Days Festival

Something for Everyone

 

Start the day off with a Kiwanis pancake breakfast at the United Methodist Church beginning at 7:00 am. If you are a golfer, the Dogwood Days Golf Tournament begins at 8:00 at Turkey Mountain Golf Course with coffee and donuts. The tournament is a 3 Person Scramble with a 9:00 Shotgun Start. The Entry Fee is $120 per Team, or you can be a Hole Sponsor for $100. If you are interested, contact Chamber Board Member Gene Stanton at 670-4344 or Golf Pro Chuck McNeight at Turkey Mountain Golf Course at 670-5252.

Be at the gazebo at 9:00 am for the opening ceremony, followed by the Pet Pageant at 9:15. DJ Doctor Steve Clark will provide music and emcee the entertainment going on at the gazebo. Miss Arkansas USA, Hannah Billingsley, will make an appearance so come on out and meet her in person.

Lots of kids activities going on throughout the day! Arkansas Game and Fish 1000 gallon aquarium, free pony rides, Craig and Jody Huckabee’s horses on display, Ronzo the Clown, Mattie the Monkey, a face painter, the FNBC train, lots of games and prizes, and Horseshoe Health & Medicine’s bounce houses. We have many food and craft vendors, something for everyone. Barbecue, hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, nachos, ice cream, snow cones. We have duck calls, camo dipping, and knife sharpening for the guys…candles, jewelry, homemade items, accessories and bling for the girls…. even an Old Time Photo Booth! In celebration of Horseshoe Bend’s 50th anniversary, we have more entertainment than ever. Bring your chair and enjoy listening to bands on stage starting at noon with Deadwood Groove, followed by Blue Dogwood, Robert and Joe Hutcheson, and Foul Play, hosted by Melodie Clemmons from Music In The Mountains Theatre. Thanks to IESI for providing the sound system, and Doc Yow for putting it all together.

Cap off the day with a BBQ supper sponsored by State Representative Tommy Wren at the Eagle’s at 5:00 pm. Hwy 289 Band will be playing from 6-9.

Sign up sheets are available at the chamber office for the Pet Pageant, Wheels In The Bend, Big Thunder, Mz. DOGwood Men’s Beauty Pageant, and the Golf Tournament if you are interested in any of these events. Don’t forget about our Dogwood Days raffle for a service for four set of Buffalo China in a Dogwood pattern. The raffle tickets can be purchased at the chamber office for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
