Spring Art Walk

Get downtown this weekend to explore the arts! The Batesville Area Arts Council is collaborating with Lyon College art students to host an Art Walk on Main Street Friday, May 6 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is a self-guided viewing of artwork in Downtown Batesville, and is FREE and open to the public for all ages.

The Batesville Area Arts Council’s Gallery on Main (226 E Main) will host a reception that evening for their 10th Annual National Juried Exhibition. This year’s exhibition features the work of 23 artists from 10 different states. The juror for BAAC’s 10th Annual National Juried Exhibition is Kimi Kitada, a contemporary art curator based in Kansas City, MO who currently works as the Jedel Family Foundation Curatorial Fellow at Charlotte Street Foundation. Awards will be announced starting at 6 p.m.

Lyon College Art students will have their artwork displayed at four locations: Lander’s Theater (332 E Main), Stella’s Brick Oven Pizzeria and Bistro (250 E Main), BAAC Gallery on Main (226 E Main) and the Batesville Mercantile (201 E Main). Gallery 246 (243 E Main) will also be open for the Art Walk.
