Smokin’ on the White BBQ Championship Set for Water Carnival Weekend

Aug 8th, 2018 (Batesville, AR)—The Smokin’ on the White BBQ Championship is set to kick off on September 7th and 8th at Riverside Park in conjunction with the 75th Annual White River Water Carnival.

This year the contest will be dual sanctioned with the Memphis BBQ Network and the Kansas City BBQ Society. Professional teams from across the country will converge on Batesville for their chance at over $12,000 in prize money. The public is invited to tour pit area located next to the VFW on Saturday, September 8th. Beginning at 2:00 P.M., patrons may donate $10.00 to the Independence County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, in exchange for a sample plate from many of the competitors.

About the White River Water Carnival:

The White River Water Carnival is a free, family event that features entertainment, food vendors, craft and commercial vendors, a parade, and kids’ activities. Kids’ activities require the purchase of an admission band and are currently sponsored in part by FNBC, Littlefield Oil, Pepsi, Walmart, and Westrock Orthodontics. The car show is sponsored by the Wood Family dealerships. The parade is sponsored by Citizens Bank.
