POWHATAN, Ark. – Powhatan Historic State Park will host an Archaeology Open House on Friday March 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Join park staff and archaeologists from the Jamie C. Brandon Center to explore an archaeological excavation and visit the historic town of Powhatan to see how archaeology comes to life!  Visitors will also have an opportunity to explore historical documents in the nearby archives at NEARA and participate in living history to bring the town to life.

Powhatan Historic State Park will host a cemetery cleaning workshop on Saturday March 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Join park staff to learn what you can do, and what you shouldn’t do, to care for stone and concrete monuments.  We encourage participants to wear outdoor work clothes, and bring your own drinking water, chair, and note-taking materials.
