Powhatan Historic State Park to host June Workshops

(POWHATAN, Ark.) – Powhatan Historic State Park will host a Victorian Watercolor Painting Workshop on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Join park staff to learn how American Victorians used watercolor painting to brighten up their homes.  Participants will learn the basics of watercolor painting and leave with their own artwork.  The registration fee covers the cost of materials.  Please wear work clothes and bring a sack lunch.  Space is limited and reservations are required. There is a $15 registration fee.

Powhatan Historic State Park will host a Pearl Stringing Workshop on Saturday, June 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Join park staff and learn how to make your own pearl jewelry.  Participants will learn the history of pearling on the Black River and this unique jewelry history.  Participants will leave with their own hand-made jewelry.  Space is limited and registration is required.  Registration fees: Necklace: $25; Bracelet: $15; Earrings $10.  Space is limited and registration is required.
