Mark your calendars for November 16!  From 6 to 9 p.m., Jacksonport State Park will host Justice in Jacksonport 1889: Murder on the Little Rock Express.  This trial is based on actual events that occurred in Newport, Arkansas and were tried in the courthouse at Jacksonport in 1889. The present-day trial is being held in the same room.

Railroad porter Andrew Crittenden is dead, shot by passenger David Whitfield. Was it murder or self-defense? Only you can decide. After enjoying a southern style supper, guests will take part in a living history drama, playing the roles of defendant, witnesses, lawyers, and jurors to determine the fate of the accused.

Admission is $25 per person.  Advance registration is required for this event. The deadline to register is 3 p.m. Thursday, November 14th. This event is limited to a minimum of 30, and a maximum of 50 participants. This event has full accessibility for visitors with disabilities.
