Gallery Reception:
2018 Small Works on Paper

The Batesville Area Arts Council is pleased to present the 2018 Small Works on Paper, an annual touring visual arts exhibition coordinated by the Arkansas Arts Council, a division of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. This exhibition, which showcases the work of Arkansas artists, will be on display at the BAAC Gallery on Main through October 27, 2018.

“Now in its 31st year, the Small Works on Paper exhibition offers an extraordinary opportunity for artists to have their work seen by patrons all over the state,” said Stacy Hurst, director of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. “Each year, the exhibition features the work of both established and up-and-coming artists and offers an eclectic mix of mediums and a variety of content.”

Watercolor & Hand-Lettering Workshop
Saturday, October 6, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.
at BAAC Gallery on Main

The Phi Mu chapter at Lyon is hosting a Watercolor & Hand-Lettering Workshop to benefit Arkansas Children’s Hospital! The class will take place at the Batesville Area Arts Council on Saturday, October 6, 12 – 2 p.m. Instructor, Megan Holifield, will guide you step-by-step through the process. The fee will include all supplies needed and a donation to ACH.

Fall Paint Night
Thursday, October 18, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
at BAAC Gallery on Main

BAAC will provide participants with all the supplies needed to create their own painting on canvas within the 2-hour workshop. Instructor, Carla Ladd, will guide you step-by-step through the painting pictured. Participants are welcome to bring their own beverages and snacks to enjoy with friends.

Join us for Artoberfest!
Join us for ARTOBERFEST Saturday, October 20, on Main Street in the historic downtown Batesville. This FREE festival will feature live music, artist booths, the Arkansas Arts Center’s Artmobile, a sidewalk chalk contest, and other family fun activities!

FREE Halloween Workshop for Kids
Saturday, October 27

Stop by BAAC with your children anytime from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Students will be creating Halloween themed projects with help from the Lyon College Art Student League! Registration is not required for this workshop, drop-in only. All children must be accompanied by an adult, and all age levels are encouraged to participate. Cathy Drew is a life long resident of the region that she loves to promote! As a matter of fact, she was born in Downtown Batesville in the late ’60s in one of the eight counties she now loves to encourage people to visit.
Drew is married to her husband of 27 years, Jeff Drew. Jeff and Cathy have a son, Jonathon (Jon) Drew and his wife Devyn Stewart and can’t leave out her grandson Jase Drew. Of course Drew can’t skip the other part of her family, the pets! Lady Bird (a stray that was welcomed into their home June 2012) and of course Howard – the puppy was compliments of Lady Bird shortly after arrival at the Drew home. They also have Kasha which Cathy inherited when your mother passed in 2016 and they adopted Bullet a stray in November of 2016 and the newest arrival Bullet a stray adopted into the family.

Drew, part of Ozark Gateway Region since 1990 while working at the ad agency (The Media Market Inc.) for the association where she helped produce their annual tabloid publication. She began work as the director of the Ozark Gateway Region June, 2000.
