August Events and Programs at Powhatan Historic State Park

Kids Indoor Games- Living History Academy

August 7th from 9am to 11am

Free

Today we are surrounded by countless things that hold our attention, but what did they do way back when? Come join park staff to play with 19th century toys and games and learn how people entertained themselves prior to internet and electricity! This program is a part of Powhatan’s Living History Academy, a program designed to introduce younger audiences to historic learning experiences that they help bring to life.  For questions, please call (870) 878-6765.

            Cross Stitch Workshop

Cross-stitch is not only the oldest form of embroidery, but also one of the easiest to learn. Join the staff at Powhatan Historic State Park to learn about this historic practice and its surprising present-day revival. Participants will learn basic stitch techniques, pattern reading, and will stitch one of several historic or modern patterns of their choosing. Your registration fee provides all materials needed for the class. Space is limited, and reservations are required.
