Arkansas Craft a School to feature The Fine Art
of Faux Finishes
with Lynne Blanscet

ABOUT THIS COURSE:

“Faux finishes” are painting techniques used to “fake” the viewer into believing that what they are seeing could be marble, granite, gemstones, leather gold or other metals, be they antiques or not. You are invited to join artist Lynne Blanscet in this two day workshop in which you will learn and practice the magic of creating look-a-likes for walls, accessories and furniture for yourself and your business. Learn about finishes that are appropriate for different objects, which materials and tools to use, and what techniques to employ to achieve high-quality fine finishes.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Lynn’s interest in the arts began at a very early age under the tutelage of her father. She earned her B.F.A. in Crafts, with a teaching certificate from Tyler School of Art of Temple University in Philadelphia, and a M.F.A. in Ceramics from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She has since built on that base by taking continuing education courses in many subjects, including “Faux Finishes” by the JoAnne Day Workshop in San Francisco.

Lynne’s belief is that the greater the understanding of the materials required to execute any given job, the better the outcome. The rage of her commissioned work is so broad that a total understanding of materials and the psychological impact of color are critical and, most certainly having that vision is an integral part in executing finely crafted faux finishes.

She looks forward to sharing her vast knowledge and experience in the art world with those willing to explore the world of creative finishes.
