Powhatan Historic State Park to host July workshop

Pearl stringing and canning are topics of June and July workshops

(POWHATAN, Ark.) – Powhatan Historic State Park, 4414 Hwy. 25, Powhatan, will host a summer workshop on canning in July. The workshop has a registration fee and reservations are required.

On Saturday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., park staff will teach participants how to preserve food through canning. Staff will discuss the history of canning and give tips for making canning easy. Participants will leave with a sample canned good made at the workshop. The registration fee is $25 per workshop. Space is limited.
