5th Annual King of the Crag to Take Place at the Jamestown Crag Oct. 14th!

Nomads to host the 5th Annual King of the Crag this Weekend

Climbers from across the nation will travel to Independence County for the 5th Annual King of the Crag, which is set to take place at the Jamestown Crag this Saturday October 14th, 2017.

The annual rock climbing competition was created by crag owners the Nomads, as a fundraising mechanism for the continued perseveration and development of the Jamestown Crag recreation area.

The property, which is located on Jamestown Loop Road behind the Arkansas Game and Fish Wildlife Reserve, has become the premier destination for rock climbing in Northeast Arkansas.

Each of the 80 sport climbing routes are given a unique score based on their universal climbing rating and other factors such as height and overhang. Climbers are judged on their top 5 climbs of the day.

Climbing begins at 10:00 AM and will commence at 5:00 PM. An awards ceremony, dinner and movie will follow.

Spectators are encouraged to attend.
