Motorcycle Trips in the Ozark GatewayThe Ozark Gateway region is a popular destination for motorcyclists traveling alone or in groups. There are many opportunities for touring, including the following suggested routes.
Alternatively, from Melbourne take Hwy. 69 to route 58 and go west through Guion to Hwy. 14 and head west to Mountain View or east to Batesville in Independence County. At route 58 you might choose to go east through Sidney to Hwy. 167, south to Cave City then on into Batesville. Breathtaking scenery can be found going north out of Mountain View on highways 5,9,14. Head west on Hwy. 14 at Allison and catch route 341 nine miles west of Fifty Six. This is a spectacular road with little traffic and miles of twisting turning highway. Riders familiar with this area recommend being especially diligent about watching for gravel that has been pulled out onto the roadway from the shoulders. At Hwy. 201 head north to Mountain Home then return on Hwy. 5 to Salesville. Take route 177 E. over Norfolk Lake Dam to Pineville. Go south on Hwy. 5 one mile, take route 56 east to Ash Flat, then route 167 south to Batesville. For riders starting in Batesville, travel north on Hwy 167 to Cave City. Just past Cave City pick up route 115 east to Imboden. From Imboden take Hwy. 412 west to route 58 south and follow this until you come back to 115, traveling west back to Cave City. Continue on to Batesville or strike out on your own. You’ll discover that Arkansas roads are good, the scenery is great and the traffic is usually light. Pick up a map and go riding!
