State Parks

Natural beauty mixes with stimulating history

Preserved and maintained for the enjoyment of everyone, our regional state parks offer a dazzling trip back to the beauty, history and natural surroundings that define the Ozark Mountain Region. Lodging, dining and shopping opportunities abound to round out your trip to any of our glorious parks.

Go back in time to a once-thriving riverboat port and home of Confederate and Union soldiers at Jacksonport State Park. Fish for bass, crappie, bream and catfish in 645 acres of spring-fed water at Lake Charles State Park.

At Mammoth Spring State Park, watch 9 million gallons of water per hour flow from Arkansas’ largest spring, and see railroad memorabilia at the restored 1886 Frisco Depot. At Old Davidsonville State Park, be part of historic Davidsonville, established in 1815 and home to the Arkansas Territory’s first post office, courthouse and land office.

Enjoy traditional music performances, an inviting craft village, a gift shop and plenty more for the whole family at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. Finally, tour the restored 1888 courthouse built from red bricks made on-site at the Powhatan Historic State Park while you visit this former riverport town three miles south of Black Rock.

Come and witness the untouched beauty and preservation of original history, and make a few new memories today!
