The 11th annual Depot Days Festival will be held on Saturday September 27th on Front Street in downtown Newport, Arkansas.  The festival will feature Rock and Roll legends Billy Lee Riley as well as Sonny Burgess and the Pacers.  Continuing it’s tradition of featuring Sun Records recording artists the festival will also present saxophone great Ace Cannon and will pay tribute to the late Charlie Rich with a final set teaming Burgess and his Pacers with Charlie Rich Jr.

Nowhere in Arkansas will you find more authentic talent from the early days of Rock and Roll than at Depot Days.  Riley and Burgess, both contemporaries of Elvis Presley in the mid to late 1950’s, still tour extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.  Ace Cannon is often billed with both Burgess and Riley due to his extensive involvement in the Sun Records community during the same era.  Charlie Rich was also a well known Sun artist before going on to international fame as a country superstar.

The festival will also include vendors, children’s activities and a fireworks show.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

2:00--2:45  The Dunham Family (country gospel)

3:00-3:45   J.R. Rogers and The All Stars (Country Rock)

4:00--5:15  Blues Deville (Gut Bucket electric Blues)
