Solve Jacksonport State Park’s Mystery!

Are you a history detective? Find the clues and solve the case in Jacksonport State Park’s newest exhibit “The Jacksonport Collection Calamity”! Artifacts in the collection have lost their stories, and it is up to you to match them. Along the way, discover new angles through genealogy, conservation, archaeology, and preservation.

Through a generous loan from the Saunders Museum in Berryville, Arkansas, the exhibit features the Tunstall Bowie knife. In 1833 this knife was presented to Thomas Todd Tunstall, the founder of Jacksonport, by Resin Bowie. The Jacksonport State Park is proud to display this unique piece of area history.

The exhibit will be open in the Jacksonport State Park Courthouse Museum through January of 2014. Admission to the museum is free of charge.

Through Amendment 75 Arkansas State Parks receives funding from a conservation sales tax of 1/8th of one percent. This funding source provides money for special projects, events, programs and maintenance repairs at all of our state parks. Thank you for your support of the Arkansas State Park system.
