Ozark Folk Center Craft Village open through November 30

 

Experience the Ozark way of life through exciting demonstrations and purchase homemade crafts before the Ozark Folk Center State Park’s Craft Village closes for the season Nov. 30.

 

The Craft Village will be open from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday in November and many gift ideas are on display and available for purchase throughout the village.

 

The doll shop is selling figurines for nativity scenes, angel ornaments and braided crosses, all hand-made from corn husks. On display at the basket shop are many colorful hand-woven baskets of all shapes and sizes. And the jewelers in the jewelry shop are stocking up on their handcrafted mixed metal ornaments and jewelry. At the print shop, you will find Christmas cards and a large selection of hand-printed posters and paper products. Stop by the quilt shop for festive potholders and trivets. Other crafters in the village that are selling handmade products include the apothecary; the knife shop; the pottery shop; the wood shop; the cooper shop; the glass shop and more.

 

The Homespun Gift Shop features handcrafted items from Ozark Folk Center artisans and crafts people from around Arkansas. As a preview to the upcoming holiday season, the Ozark Folk Center State Park’s Homespun Gift Shop will be offering free tastings on Nov. 30 of Shitake Potato Soup served from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

 

In addition to the tastings, customers can save 25 percent off all War Eagle Mills products. And from Nov. 24 – 30, enjoy 25 – 50 percent off other select items at the General Store and the Homespun Gift shop.

 

The gift shop also sells books on crafts, herbs and music, as well as CDs by local musicians and much more. The Homespun Gift Shop is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from

10 – 4 p.m. In addition, the shop will be open Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 5 – 7 and Dec. 12 – 14 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. for last minute holiday shopping.
