Ozark Folk Center State Park celebrates ‘Green Friday’ with shopping, music
Create a new Thanksgiving tradition and come out to the Ozark Folk Center State Park on Nov. 29, 2013, also known as Green Friday, for shopping and music.
The craft village is open Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and is a great place to buy homemade one-of-a-kind presents directly from the artisans who made the crafts.
In addition to finding the perfect present for a loved one, you will also be helping support independent small local businesses. The crafts people who contract to work at the folk center are not only masters of their craft, they are also professionals who use the traditional Ozark methods to make sustainable use of resources found in the local area. The soap maker recycles the vegetable oil from the state park restaurant to use in her soaps. The potters engineered one of the world’s first vegetable oil kilns. And the park’s wood turner uses wood from his tree trimming service to turn spinning tops.

In addition to the craft village, the Ozark Folk Center’s large auditorium will also be open Green Friday when Pam Setser and Joni Bishop perform a special gospel concert. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m.
Admission to the craft village is $12 for adults and $7 for children 6-12. Children under six are free. Tickets for the concert are also $12 for adults and $7 for children 6-12. Combination tickets are available and cost $19.50 for adults and $10.25 for children.
