Lucas Pool and Moonlight Ramblers Host Stringband Camp
Banjo player Lucas Pool returns to his hometown of Mountain View, AR on August 22nd and 23rd to host the annual String Band Weekend at the Ozark Folk Center State Park. Lucas spent his formative years in Mountain View learning traditional Ozark music before moving on for further study at the Berklee College of Music. His playing skills have earned him jobs with actor and banjo man Steve Martin among other notables.
Along with the band The Moonlight Ramblers, Lucas will host a two day workshop covering all aspects of learning to perform traditional Ozark music in an ensemble setting. Banjo, guitar, fiddle and mandolin will be the focus instruments for this class. Students should have a basic understanding of their instrument and some experience playing. Classes will run 10-4 each day and conclude with a performance on the Ozark Folk Center State Park’s Music Auditorium Saturday night.
