Main Street Batesville, Future Fuel and Merchants and Planters Bank are proud to present to the public Rocktoberfest, Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th in historic downtown Batesville. Rocktober Fest will be held in conjunction with the annual fall antique festival. Antique dealers will have stores open with sidewalk shopping up and down Main Street all day Friday. Saturday the antique shopping will continue, plus a day full of activities, food, games and arts and crafts. The street dance starts at 7:30 in the Pocket Park with music by Danny Dozier and The Lockhouse Orchestra.

There will be several cakewalks sponsored by Living Spaces Home Décor, starting with a kids cakewalk at 4:00. The last one will be held at 9:30 pm for a grand prize of The Big Green Egg outdoor cooker with accessories, valued at over $800.

At 5:30 Cindy Hubbard and The North Arkansas Dance Troup will perform on Main Street in front of The Pocket Park.

Danny Dozier, member of Mainstreet Batesville and the entertainment for Saturday evening, has organized this event to reveal the improvements made to the Pocket Park and to encourage the community to celebrate and support the historic area. “Downtown holds so much of Batesville’s history. I don’t want to see it abandoned and forgotten, like so many other cities. I think it’s our duty as citizens to preserve and enjoy it, and that is the reason for this event” says Danny. Everyone is encouraged to bring you lawn chairs, enjoy the festivities and wear your dancing shoes.

Rocktoberfest is being sponsored by Future Fuels and Merchant and Planters Bank and proceeds from the event will go to Mainstreet Batesville.
