Jacksonport State Park is hosting a star gazing program called “Tour of the Universe” on October 4, 2013 starting at 5:30 pm. The evening starts in the courthouse with a presentation “Investigating the Universe” with Dr. Tillman Kennon, Associate Professor of Science Education from Arkansas State University – Jonesboro. You will see some amazing pictures that explore planets and constellations of our universe. At dusk, the star gazing takes place at the park pavilion. Experience the magic of our universe as Dr. Kennon shows you the night sky through the different telescopes that he has set up. The fascinating stories and history of the constellations will be part of the star gazing. Come along with some questions since Dr. Kennon enjoys answering any queries you may have.

The program is free to the public. Teachers and students are encouraged to attend the program. The courthouse is wheelchair accessible.
