Bits & Pieces: Collage & Sculpture, by Aline McCracken
Please join us for refreshments tomorrow evening at the reception for BAAC’s current exhibition, Bits & Pieces: Collage & Sculpture, featuring work by Aline McCracken. Reception will be held Friday, Nov. 8th from 5pm-7pm, with a brief artist talk at 6pm.
The exhibition will be on display in the BAAC Gallery on Main, 246 E. Main Street, until November 22nd and features collages that are designed around images of sculpture from diverse cultures. Many of the artifact images have religious significance. “My goal is to show similarities among people searching for meaning in life” said McCracken. The show also features sculptures by McCracken that are inspired by the famous Harris Chessmen that were discovered in a ship off Harris Island, one of Scotland’s Outer Hebrides, and believed to have been made in Norway around the twelfth century.
