This Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the freezer truck from Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry will be at TD Building Supply. Hunters are encouraged to get ready for deer season and donate last year’s deer meat to Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry, which will distribute it to the food banks and food pantries.

The meat must be commercially processed.

The freezer truck will be here to collect last year’s meat and representatives will talk to everyone about the Hunters Feeding the Hungry Program. Ozark Heritage Bank will be cooking hamburgers from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and there will be give-aways.

This event is sponsored by Ozark Heritage Bank, TD Building Supply and State Senator Missy Irvin, who is Chair of the Arkansas Legislative Hunger Caucus.

Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry was established to:

• Share the harvest of an abundant resource with Arkansans who are hungry.

• Provide a much needed free, low fat, high protein food source to the many feeding agencies and organizations across Arkansas.

• Create a “Provider Purpose” for hunters who participate, allowing them to give back and share their blessings with others.

• Partner with the Game and Fish Commission in order to provide a solution for a healthy, balanced deer herd.
