Nature is an important part of our lives from the air we breathe to the food we eat. A healthy environment is even important for our recreational activities in the summer.  Let’s give back to nature by participating in the Great Arkansas Clean Up at Jacksonport State Park.

Come and participate in the Great Arkansas Clean Up at Jacksonport State Park and the City of Jacksonport on Saturday, September 7th.  We need volunteers to help with the community clean up.  Garbage bags and gloves are provided.  Following the Clean Up will be a FREE COOKOUT FOR VOLUNTEERS AND SUPPORTERS at the park.  Volunteers of the cleanup will receive a free t-shirt while supplies last.

Organized groups, such as girl scouts and boy scouts, are encouraged to participate in the Clean Up.  This will be a great opportunity for youth groups to complete services projects for the community and badges.

Volunteers will be meeting at 9:00 a.m. at the Jacksonport State Park, Visitor Center on September 7th to start the clean-up and finish by noon.  For further information and registration, please contact the park at (870) 523-2143 or Jacksonport State Park, 205 Avenue Street, Newport, AR, 72112.  Email:   The Great Arkansas Clean Up is sponsored by the Keep Arkansas Beautiful and Jacksonport State Park.
